5 Home Organization Apps to Save Time

Homer: Organize Home Information

This app is ideal to organize information regarding my home. I don’t have to spend hours to find documentation “somewhere in the drawer.” The app keeps track of and organizes all my information. It is designed to make it easy for me to add items to the lists, and to retrieve the information when needed.

The main feature of the app is that information on the app is backed up in the cloud. So I will not lose information when I’ve stored it. Even when my phone gets lost or stolen, I can retrieve the information with another phone from the cloud. And it’s always easy to add new items.

The Homer app stores photos of everything, whether it is my household items like furniture and appliances, or documents like my house lease or my passport. It saves the photos under specific tabs to make them easy for me to access and retrieve. I get a photo of the item and not only a description.

The free Homer app is available for Android and iOS devices. To install it on my phone, I downloaded it directly from the Google Play Store onto my Android phone. iPhone owners can download the app from the App Store.

I created my free account and set up my residence type. I added items in the house to the app by taking a photo of every item, tabbed them, and stored them. I added information like make, model, and warranty information for high-priced items. Organizing using tabs means that I can retrieve information easily.

I can also take a photograph of the serial number of new appliances to save me time typing the detail into the app. I also took photos of all my important documents like contracts, vaccination records, and passports, and stored them under document tabs.

Tody: Optimize House Cleaning

The Tody app lets me stay on top of house cleaning and other chores. It helps me to organize my chores logically and to take my end-of-the-day stress away. I don’t have to worry whether I’ve forgotten some important chores I should have done during the day. The app helps to optimize my cleaning chores.

One great feature of the app is that it turns home cleaning into a game. My whole family can be involved as the app allows family members to sync plans across devices.

Another feature is that Tody can be customized to fit my needs: it works for households whether you are single or a family. Tody memorizes the tasks I am doing in the house and keeps track of when a task has been completed.

When it’s time to complete the same task again, Tody sends me a notification to remind me. I only have to add new tasks, as Tody remembers everything I’ve already done.

Download the App

The free Tody app is available for Android and iOS devices. Search for ‘Tody’ on your respective app store and click ‘Install’ or ‘Get’ from its app store page to begin downloading to your device.

To start using the app, I selected a room in my house. I thought of all the household chores I normally had to do in that room. I added all these tasks and indicated how often I wanted to do them. Then I repeated the process in every room until I’ve entered all the tasks.

The more accurate tasks are entered into the app, the better the app will assist me. With all the tasks entered, I just start with a task. When the task is completed I click on “Just did it.”  When it’s time for the task again, Tody will send me a notification to remind me.

My Stuff Organizer: Use the Inventory

My Stuff Organizer is an app designed as an inventory to help me store the details of all the stuff I’ve purchased or already have at my home.

I don’t have to search all my drawers anymore to find documentation regarding my household appliances and other belongings. The app keeps track of all my information.

A great feature is that the app provides me with notifications when warranties are about to expire. The app also allows me to keep track of items I’ve sold, loaned out, or donated. To remind me to whom I’ve lent items, I can add the names of the person.

The app has a dashboard enabling me to get all stuff details in one place and I can switch easily between different features. It allows me to take photos of my belongings and the app will organize the information with tabs within the app. The app also makes backups to keep my information safe.

I started to work with the app by taking a photo of every item in my house, tabbed and stored it on the app. I sometimes still find items that I’ve forgotten about in my closets.  When it happens, I add them to my app and I’ll never forget about them again.

Now I don’t have to try and remember what an item has cost me when I want to resell it or have to provide the value for insurance purposes. I just check the app!

This is the ideal app to teach my kids about money through completing chores. It teaches my kids to work towards goals and then get rewarded when the goals have been reached. My kids can follow the percentage of their goals already met and plan how to complete the given task.
