Know the Basics of the Game

On a professional level, LoL hosts several tournaments in North America and Europe.

The tournaments culminate with the World Championship, where teams compete for the Summoner’s Cup and a multi-million dollar prize.

Annually approximately 100 million people watch the Championships online. There are two teams, consisting of five players each.

They compete against each other to be the first team to destroy the opposing team’s nexus. The nexus is at the heart of a team’s base, protected by defensive structures.

What Is the Goal?

The opposing team’s 5 players and several computer-controlled units, called minions, stand in the attacking team’s way.

Players themselves control units called champions. They must destroy enemy towers and inhibitors to get to the nexus.

Once a nexus is destroyed, the game is over, and everything is reset for the next game.

Know the Championship Structure

Before you start watching, ensure that you have a good idea of the structure of the competition.

Twenty-four teams battle it out for their chance to be crowned World Champion. Depending on seeding, teams battle through different stages. The stages are normally played in different cities.

If a team has not been one of the 12 auto-qualified teams for the group stage, the team must start with the play-in stage.

This stage sees 12 teams competing for four group stage spots. The teams are drawn into four groups, and each group plays a double round-Robin, best of 1 series.

After the First Stage

The four best teams then move forward to the group stage, where they meet the 12 teams that have already auto-qualified.

The teams are again drawn into four groups, each group playing a double round-Robin, best of 1 series.

The two highest-ranked teams from each group then move on to the knockout stage and play the best of 5 formats.

What to Watch for in a Game

During the early parts of the game, champions try to defeat minions to gain experience and gold.

When teams feel strong enough, the group as a unit of four or five fight each other and kill towers.

While you’re watching, try to determine which team is ahead. There are usually determining indicators to look for.

The team with more minions killed or with a higher level is usually ahead. The total gold and towers taken by each team are displayed in the spectator overlay.

The Importance of Positioning

Positioning on the map is also important. If all the champions are near the blue team’s base, the red team is probably ahead.

If the champions are all near the red team’s base, the blue team is probably ahead.

Where and When to Watch the Games

Sites like MLG and Twitch specialize in e-sport content, and LoL Championships are streamed live.

YouTube Gaming is another accessible way to start watching LoL games. A top-notch VPN, such as NordVPN, streams the live games.

Riot Games’ Pro View gives you more resources to watch professional LoL matches, including the World Championships. ESPN also airs matches through their app.

You can now also watch and stream your LoL games on your Android phone.

Understand the Schedule

To know when to view games, check the year’s LoL calendar.

It’s very exciting to watch throughout the year as many games as you have time for, choose your favorites, and follow their journey through all the stages.

Watch with the League+ App

One of the best apps for watching LCS and the LOL World Championship was launched by Riot Games Incorporated.

In my experience, it is perfect for staying informed on what is happening in the game even when you are AFK.

The app offers an interface that is highlighted by frequent notifications on live streams and champ updates. This app allows its users to connect their existing LOL accounts with a streaming platform.

So it is pretty simple to log onto World Championship games and enjoy as your favorite team moves towards winning the whole event.

Get Rewarded for Watching Games

I found that staying up to date with the schedule has never been easier. This is because of the game updates that League+ is highlighted by.

On top of all that, the app rewards those who watch the games with championship points and, in some cases, batches of RP.

The best thing? It is available from both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store and can be downloaded and installed within a few minutes.

Enjoy the LoL World Championship with the LCS and TFT Guide

Among several apps that support streaming League of Legends, I found that this Helper app to be the best choice.

Although it is not interactive, it informed me of all the new champs, skins, tactics and allowed me to watch the whole World Championship 2020 for completely free.

It stands as a guide for all the true fans that want to know the latest tactics and can enjoy their favorite teams in action.

Among the features that the tool launched by Mobilegion includes is the ability to integrate your account stats with the recommendations posted by the app.

HD Streams

Considering that this article is about watching live LoL games, I want to emphasize that the quality of Worlds, LEC, LCK, TFL, OPL, GARENA, LMS, and CBLOL streams are pretty impressive.

Twitch.tv As a Reliable Platform for Watching LoL Championships

The most popular app for eSports has to be Twitch that offers hundreds of games on a daily basis.

It started as a website and was launched in the form of a mobile app from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Among the highlighting points of this app is that it allows direct interaction with the streamers or the game commentators.

LoL is one of the most-streamed games on this platform, and it includes World championships and everyday games. Most impressively, you can sign up and share your skills with the world.

Watch Recorded Games

Apart from the ability to tune in live, the Twitch app also provides its users a chance to watch recorded games and competitions.

Thus, you will stay informed on everything even if you weren’t by your mobile at the time.

Engage in a Full-on Esports Experience with Strafe

Launched by Sidlesides AB, this platform offers extensive personalization, including following your favorite teams and eSports events such as the LoL World Championship.

Among the included features is a notifications system that informs users on the match predictions and schedule.

According to my experience, the Strafe eSports apps covers not only League of Legends but also other MOBA and multiplayer games such as Dota 2 and CS: GO.

It provides streams on an everyday basis and important news and analytics on the upcoming and played matches.

Rank Up to the Top of the Strafe Community

One of the coolest features is the fact that you can climb up the ladder and become a leading Strafe member by following eSports and interacting with the rest of the community.

Available from both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, I found it to be one of the most extensive streaming apps on the marketplace.

Stay on Top of all Events with eForce Esports

Another fantastic tool for streaming international League of Legends tournaments is the one launched by Dmytro Komarovskyi and his team.

It offers live scoring, extensive analytics, highlights, and most importantly, hundreds of live streams on a yearly basis.

Most importantly, it doesn’t feature unnecessary games but just the top-notch competitions.

Along with League of Legends, it also streams the Rocket League, CS: GO, and Dota 2.

What Are the Requirements?

As an Android user, I enjoyed the fact that it can run on all devices that are above the 4.1 version. You can easily download it from the Google Play Store.

The app asks for just around 21 megabytes – nothing compared to what I got. It is also available for iPhone and iPad users with two simple requirements.

It is that you have 60 MB free and run an iOS version that is 9.0 later. You can download it from the Apple App Store.

Don’t Miss Out on International eSports with YouTube Gaming

Although not a designated app, I found that the Gaming segment of the most popular video platform offers constant coverage of League of Legends games.

I use it to watch international MOBA events throughout the past couple of years, but I also enjoy signing in to live streams from amateur gamers and interacting with the community through live chat.

How to use it? All it takes is to open the YouTube app and search for the Gaming segment in which you will find any of the events that are currently happening.

Along with that, it is one of the best platforms for finding detailed highlights and learning more about how to step up your LoL game.

Interact with Millions of eSports Fans

My personal favorite is the fact that most streams allow the live chat feature.

You can use it to support the streamer or the competing team through donations.

You are also able to interact with millions of others that are using YouTube Gaming to watch League of Legends World Championships.

Summary

League of Legends is a great action-packed video game, and the LoL Championships are an exciting competition that video game lovers have to see.

I did my best to highlight the most reliable websites and apps that will help you engage in an immersive MOBA experience!
